Prayer

The next day…

Yes, there will be another day of prayer for TWG, although we haven’t set a date. In the mean time, I want to say a very big thank you to all who prayed with us yesterday, whether you breathed a quick sentence prayer or waited before the Lord at length.

May those prayers blend together before Him like sweet incense, and as our hearts are more tuned to Him and to TWG, may we be open to whatever He may lay on our hearts. Some may see ways to volunteer, to give, to encourage. Others may have a word from Him to share (send to me and I’ll make sure it gets to the Leadership Team, or send directly to our Managing Director, Denise Rumble).

As Tiny Tim would say, “God bless us, every one!”

In praise and anticipation,

Thank you so much to everyone who’s taken time today to pray for TWG. Thank you to those who are still praying or yet plan to do so. Here on the east coast, it’s bedtime so I’m passing the torch westward.

If you’re just stopping by to pray, welcome to our “virtual prayer room.” Scroll down and you will see a list of prayer needs. And, click the “specifics” link above for more. Let’s not forget to be thankful for what God has begun in TWG and what He will do.

Praise God for all He’s done in and through TWG so far, and for the plans He has to use this group for His glory.

2 Peter 3:18 says “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen”

Let’s pray for The Word Guild as a whole, and for our members, that we may grow… so we are prepared to stand for truth in any and all circumstances.

One of our Prayer Team members, Ramona Furst, shares this encouragement: When God wants to accomplish something He places us in the right places (with eyes to see and ears to hear). Let’s join to pray that big events and plans for TWG can and will swing on small hinges. Pray for our commonplace conversations and activities, that God will give providential discernment, agreement and God moments that will be powerfully felt and understood.

Nehemiah 4:20 reminds that Our God will fight for us. Let’s pray on in confidence.

Let’s not forget to be thankful for what God has begun in TWG and what He will do. This isn’t a time of pleading for more, it’s a time of praise and of desiring to place ourselves under His direction and empowerment.

It’s wonderful to sense the unity in prayer today, to know that across the country God is weaving together our prayers for The Word Guild.

The Apostle Peter wrote, “The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” (NIV)

There’s so much in these verses, and I encourage you to pray through this or another selection of Scripture for TWG today.

At this point comments aren’t enabled here, on the prayer page, but Denise Rumble posted about the prayer day on the main page (http://www.twgmanagingdirector.com/) and if you’d like to share a comment, Scripture or insight you can do it there or by emailing the prayer team.

Midnight. Our Day of Prayer begins.

Please join us on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, from midnight Monday to midnight Tuesday, as we pray for             The Word Guild.

Joining in prayer

What will we be praying for?

1. God’s direction for what we do in the coming year.

2. God’s will regarding funds for the coming years. With money tight everywhere, it’s hard to find donors, but in order to accomplish our mandate, we need to find ways to bring in more income to pay staff and to start new programs.

3. More volunteers, particularly in leadership roles. There is so much more we would like to do, but more help is needed.

4. Fulfillment of The Word Guild’s dream – to impact not only Canada but the world with our writing.

5. For each individual member to be fulfilling God’s plan for his or her writing, editing, speaking, etc.

6. For more people who are not themselves writers to get involved in helping us – through donations, opening doors, hands-on assistance, prayer…

Whether you are able to pray for five minutes, five hours, intermittently throughout the day or all day, your prayers will be treasured and significant, not only to all of us, but to God Himself.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever!” Amen (2 Peter 3:18)
